数学与计算科学学院位于中山大学南校区，前身是始创于1924年的中山大学数学系。目前，学院下设两个系（数学系、统计科学系）和五个研究机构（计算科学实验室、数学研究所、计算科学与计算机应用研究所、复杂系统研究中心、华南统计科学研究中心），拥有数学、统计学两个一级学科并形成了具有鲜明特色的优势学术领域。学院现拥有一批教育部“长江学者”特聘教授、国家杰出青年基金获得者等在国内外有一定影响力的教授和学者。

SchoolofMathematics&ComputationalSciences,originallyknownastheMathematicsDepartmentfoundedin1924,islocatedontheSouthCampusofSunYat-senUniversity.TheschoolhousestwodepartmentsandfiveresearchinstitutionsandconsistsoftwoFirstGradeDisciplines(mathematicsandstatistics),formingadistinctfeatureinitsresearchfield.Afairnumberof“ChangjiangScholars”,winnersof“TheNationalScienceFundforDistinguishedYoungScholars”aswellasotherrenownedprofessorsandscholarsareservingfortheschool.

为早日实现建设世界一流大学的宏伟目标，学校通过扩大科研队伍、鼓励青年学子潜心治学、科研。获聘人员将得到优厚的薪酬，并且没有明确的教学任务，是各研究团队的重要骨干，同时是学校未来高层次人才的储备，是选拔核心教师队伍的人才库。专职科研和博士后队伍中的优秀者，聘期内或聘期结束时，可直接应聘学校副教授及以上职位。
